High frequency treatment

High Frequency
High frequency facial skin care treatment helps in treating stubborn pimples, shrinks pores, reduces fine lines and wrinkled eyes reduces black eye circles, rejuvenates scalp position And nourishes the pores for the development of healthy skin. Considered to be a timeless and essential skin rejuvenation treatment by those within the skin care industry that have been shown to improve the penetration and absorption of high frequency cell renewal and skin care products by skin tissues slowly. High frequency electric current has safe, gentle oscillation and oxidizing power that strengthens blood circulation, increases collagen and elastin production, eliminates toxins and acne-causing bacteria, encourages lymphatic drainage, dead skin cells. Has been shown to flush out and improve skin care product absorption. The first action of high frequency current is thermal (heat production) and is characterized by a high rate of oscillation. High frequency does not cause muscle contraction - instead, it works on the principle of skin toning. High frequency faces differ in machines and equipment (traditionally referred to as "violet rays") design and appearance although the underlying principles, technology and operational functions are almost equal .
There  are two methods have different effects on the tissue and must be selected carefully to suit the client. They are primarily used on the face but may also be used body the technique and effects are similar for both .
The direct method
The indirect method

The direct method
This method is particularly suitable for the client with greasy, seborrheic, acne prone skin due to its stimulating, drying effect. It may also be used on dry and mature skin.
Be aware
Treatment time should be shorter for dry and mature skin - about 5 minutes - otherwise the condition will aggravate.
A glass electrode is used in this method, which is slowly carried over the skin. The current passes through the electrode and is spread over the skin. The heat generated in the tissues will produce beneficial effects for the client. Sparking is used for its disinfectant effect.
Electrodes used for the direct method
A variety of electrodes shaped for specific purposes. They are made of glass with metal end connections. A very small amount of air, neon or mercury is sealed inside the tube. When the electrode is pushed into its holder, the metal end makes contact with a metal plate in the holder. When the current switch is on, it flows from the machine, through the holder, to the electrode. The air or gas inside the tube ions flows through the tube and spreads to the tissues under the electrode.
The electrodes glow in different colours according to what they contain:
Violet if they contain air
Orange if they contain neon
Blue-violet if they contain mercury vapour.

Direct high frequency electrode
Mushroom/facial bulb electrode (large)
A glass electrode for the face and neck, chest and back and for sparking blemished areas, for example pustules and papules.

Mushroom/facial bulb electrode(small)
A glass electrode suitable for use on and around the nose and chin area and for sparking blemished areas, for example pustules and papules.

Horseshoe electrode
A glass electrode contoured for use on the neck .
Roller electrode
A glass roller electrode suitable for larger areas, for example the back and chest but can also be used on the face and neck.
Comb/rake
Glass electrodes used over the scalp and hair to stimulate the blood circulation to hair follicles, a treatment mainly carried out in hairdressing.
{ Learning point
The anti-bacterial effect can also be beneficial when treating a dry or mature skin. On this type of skin the treatment is carried out for a short time only (maximum 5 minutes) as too long a treatment Will increase the dryness. }

Benefits
Heat production
Rapid oscillating current produces rapid movement of molecules in tissues generates heat. It is largest in superficial tissues under heating electrodes.
Increase metabolic rate
Metabolism is a chemical reaction capable of being accelerated by heat. Increase metabolic rate creates an increase in oxygen and nutrient demand and waste production products. It promotes healing and improves skin condition.
Vasodilation, resulting in hyperaemia
The heat causes vasodilation and increased blood flow to the area. Increase in metabolism produces an increase in metabolic metabolites that produce dilation on capillary walls It also increases blood supply, in this way, oxygen and nutrients are brought more quickly. Areas and waste products are transported. This improves the condition of the skin.
Germicidal effect
When the electrode is held just outside the skin, a current jumps into the gap forming a spark. Oxygen in the air is ionized and produces ozone, which destroys and promotes the healing of pustules and papules  As a current leap, the spark produces ultraviolet rays, which destroy bacteria, Sparking itself can burn and destroy bacteria.
Drying effect
The spark stimulates the nerve endings in the skin, resulting in contraction of the pores. Oxygen in the air is converted into ozone, which has a drying effect.
Soothing effect on nerves
Mild heat has a soothing effect on the nerve endings, causing a feeling of relaxation.
( KEY BENEFITS :
To dry and improve the condition of greasy skin and areas.
To improve the condition of blemished skin.
To destroy bacteria and aid healing of acne and pustular prone skin by means of sparking.)
Contraindications
Asthma
Bruising
Chemotherapy, radiotherapy
Cuts and abrasions
Defective sensation
Diabetes
Eczema
Epilepsy
Facial piercing adornments
Heart conditions
High blood pressure
Hypersensitive skin, vascular conditions
Injectable treatments (recent)
Low blood pressure
Metal fillings (excessive) or
heavy bridge work
Nervous clients

Swelling in area

Timing of treatment
Greasy skin conditions: 4—7 minutes, depending on sensitivity. )
Dry, mature skin: 2—5 minutes.
Refer to manufacturer's instructions for specific guidance.

The indirect method ('Viennese massage')
This method is mainly used for dry, dehydrated and mature skin, although it will also be beneficial for person who feel stress and strain.
This method uses a saturator, which is placed firmly in the client hand. The holder is held in the other hand. When the current switch is turned on, it passes through the vent above the holder and '(charges the clients). As you massage the client, your fingers on the client's skin make you part of the circuit. Currently there is a discharge from the skin to your fingertips. It is a warming and relaxing treatment.
Electrode used for the indirect method
The electrode used for the method is known as saturated. It can be made of metal or glass and fit into the holder again. The customer holds the holder in one hand and the saturator is held firmly in the other hand. Saturated through current holder and pays 'fee' to customer. As you massage the client, your fingers on the client's skin make you part of the circuit. The current is 'drawn' through your fingers.

Benefits
Heat is produced in the superficial tissues.
Vasodilation of surface capillaries producing hyperaemia and erythema.
Increased blood flow to the area will nourish nutrients and oxygen
Will remove tissues and waste products. It will improve the condition of Tissues.
Increased metabolic rate due to heating will also improve condition Skin.
Mild warm and slow massage have a sedative effect on the sensory nerve and produces endings and tissue relaxation.
Friction caused by massage movements, deceleration aids (loss of dead skin).
Stimulates the sebaceous glands.

(Key benefits :
To improve the condition of dry and dehydrated skin.
To improve sluggish circulation.
To improve the condition of mature and tired skin with fine lines.
Promote relaxation for stressed and stressed clients. )

Contraindications : As same for direct high frequency

Timing of treatment
Apply for 10-15 minutes, depending on client's skin type, skin reaction and client tolerance. Look at Manufactor's instructions for specific guidance.
